JRuby is on fire!

A few days ago JRuby 0.9.2 was "released"::http://docs.codehaus.org/display/JRUBY/2006/12/10/JRuby+0.9.2+released%21 - hats off to the JRuby team. It's got improved "support for RSpec":http://on-ruby.blogspot.com/2006/12/jruby-and-rspec-leftovers.html, SSL and Rails. And I even got a mention in the release notes :-) It's going to be exciting to see how JRuby will do in 2007. With the "steadily":http://headius.blogspot.com/2006/12/two-jruby-talks-at-jp-whats-difference.html improving "Rails support":http://headius.blogspot.com/2006/12/another-step-toward-rails-war-files.html on servlet containers (Rails apps in war files) I am sure it will seep naturally into more traditional Java shops. There will be less need to sneak it through the system and midnight stealth missions. Tomorrow I'll give a presentation about JRuby at the "Oslo Java User group":http://www2.java.no/web/show.do?page=42;7&appmode=/showReply&articleid=4943.
